The End of Europe – Book

Dusty soil, salty air - a distant brawl whose origin lies beyond the sharp-edged cliffs. Jakob Weber's photo book The End of Europe is a visual journey to the most southwestern part of mainland Europe - formerly known as the end of the world.
It was from here that Portuguese sailors set out in the 15th century to conquer colonies around the world. Today it is a destination for surfers, pensioners in motor homes and package tourists who satisfy their wanderlust, while the political Europe closes itself off.
On 64 pages, the book leads in three chapters through a deserted area, black and white photographs of the cliffs break the chapters and mark the end by the hard break-off edges.
